ConsenSys Names Phil Davis as Chief Financial Officer

Fazzaco learned that ConsenSys, the leading Ethereum and Web3 software company, has announced the appointment of a financial veteran Phil Davis as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
In his new role, Davis will oversee ConsenSys' finance and accounting functions, including expanding the company's pioneering treasury strategy, according to the official press release.
Before joining ConsenSys, he has been with Afiniti, one of the largest pure play Artificial Intelligence companies in the world, for more than 7 years, as CFO. Prior to that, Davis was Head of Corporate Strategies, and a member of the Capital Structure Advisory Group at Goldman Sachs between December 2009 and March 2015. During this period, he led teams within the Investment Banking Division to provide corporate finance and capital structure advice to clients.

Additionally, Davis worked as Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company from September 2005 to August 2008, with the remits of leading consulting teams serving senior leadership (typically EVP or C-level clients of Fortune 500 companies) across many industries/functions.
This appointment follows ConsenSys' Series D funding of $450m last month, valuing the Web3 leader at over $7bn.
"We are delighted to have Phil join us at this critical time in the growth of our company," Joseph Lubin, Co-Founder of Ethereum and Founder and CEO of ConsenSys, commented on this appointment. "Phil's experience in the field is unparalleled, and will benefit us massively as we continue to strategically deploy our financial resources across the ecosystem, and look toward potentially raising the first ever 'Series ETH' investment round."
Earlier this month, Fazzaco reported that ConsenSys has added Sarah Friar, the CEO of Nextdoor (NYSE: KIND), to its board.
