Crypto.com Joins Force with BTG Pactual to Advance Crypto Powered Banking Services in Latin America

Crypto.com, the world's fastest-growing cryptocurrency platform, announced on Tuesday a new agreement with BTG Pactual (BTG), the largest investment bank in Latin America, to further advance crypto banking services, catalyze the digital economy, and bridge traditional and digital finance across the region.
According to the announcement, the Crypto.com platform will now support the listing of the BTG DOL stablecoin, backed by the US dollar (USD) at a 1:1 ratio, which was launched by BTG in April 2023. Additionally, they will cooperate to promote BTG DOL as an efficient trading pair with major cryptocurrencies such as BTC and ETH.
Eric Anziani, President and Chief Operating Officer at Crypto.com, commented: "BTG Pactual is a true pioneer in seeing the potential of traditional finance and digital finance collaboration. We at Crypto.com share BTGs vision of innovating financial technology responsibly to empower the economy. We are incredibly proud and excited to partner with BTG, and to help broaden accessibility to the emerging digital economy in a significantly high potential region."
Andre Portilho, Partner and Head of the Digital Assets Unit at BTG, said: "BTG Pactual has consistently been at the forefront of integrating crypto technology into the traditional financial markets, demonstrating our commitment to innovation and excellence. This announcement represents another step on this journey, providing our clients with unparalleled access to the evolving digital asset landscape."
Crypto.com received its Payment Institution License (EMI) from the Central Bank of Brazil in 2022, providing the foundation for this partnership. Additionally, the crypto firm holds licenses in multiple jurisdictions globally, including the UK, Dubai, the Netherlands, Spain, and Singapore. In mid-2023, Crypto.com ceased its services to institutional clients in the U.S. due to the increasingly strict regulatory environment in the country.
