Equinix Appoints Sandile Dube as Managing Director in South Africa

Equinix, Inc. (Equinix), the world's digital infrastructure company, announced the appointment of Sandile Dube as its Managing Director in South Africa to support its strategy in Africa.

In his new position, Sandile will collaborate with local and multinational companies to establish an essential interconnection platform at Equinix's upcoming JN1​ International Business Exchange (IBX) data center in Johannesburg. The new IBX data center, set to launch in mid-2024, will facilitate connections for businesses within and outside South Africa, connecting them to Equinix's extensive network of customers and partners across the global Equinix ecosystem.

Sandile joined Equinix from Hewlett Packard Enterprise, an American multinational information technology company, where he served as Country Manager for over 3 years. Between October 2016 and June 2020, he held the role of Sales Manager at Dimension Data, a leading African-born technology provider operating in the Middle East and Africa.

Equinix continues to build new data centers around the world. In addition to the aforementioned data center JN1 in Johannesburg, South Africa, the data service provider has also unveiled its plan to set up new data centers in Mumbai, India and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, named MB4​ and KL1, respectively.
