1. Deutsche Börse Welcomes Barbara Roth as Head of Group Audit
The world’s leading exchange organizations Deutsche Börse announced the appointment of Barbara Roth as its Managing Director, Group Audit, effective from 1 January 2022.
Currently, Barbara serves as Chief Compliance Officer & Executive Vice President at Unicredit Bank AG, a pan-European Commercial Bank, where she had been for approximately 14 years. Prior to this role, she was Head of CIB (Corporate & Investment Banking) Compliance from January 2011 to April 2016. And she joined the firm as Vice President in 2007. Before Unicredit, Barbara has been with KfW as Senior Manager for 2 years.
2. Interactive Brokers Launches Cryptocurrency Trading
Interactive Brokers, one of the biggest US-based brokerage firm, recently announced the launch of cryptocurrency trading, which is made available via Paxos Trust.
The latest move aims to expand the broker's offering of trading instruments. Clients can now trade popular cryptocurriencies like BTC (Bitcoin), ETH (Ethereum), LTC (Litecoin), and BCH (Bitcoin Cash) from the TWS platform or via the IBKR mobile app. It is now available to US clients with individual or joint accounts, expanding to more clients over time.
3. IG Prime and Centroid Solutions Become Strategic Partners
IG Prime, IG Group's prime brokerage operation, has announced a strategic partnership with Centroid Solutions, a technology infrastructure company serving for multi-asset financial brokers.
The two companies will offer institutional clients access to a large internal liquidity pool, created by more than 330,000 active clients making over 14 million transactions a month.
Additionally, clients will be provided with wide selection of external liquidity venues, including global banks, non-bank liquidity providers, primary exchanges, market makers, brokers and MTF dark pools.
4. Eightcap Adds over 250 New Crypto CFDs to its Offering
Eightcap, a leading global Forex and CFD broker, has expanded its crypto offering with the addition of more than 250 cryptocurrency derivatives.
The newly launched offering aims to enable the broker's clients to diversify their crypto portfolio via the MT4 and MT5 platforms. Not only will clients be able to buy or sell a wide range of Cryptocurrency CFDs, including crypto-crosses and crypto indices, but its clients will also have multiple funding options and be able to make quick withdrawals.
5. Spectrum Markets Provides Turbo Certificates on Selected Equities
Spectrum Markets, a pan-European trading venue for securitised derivatives, announced that it has introduced turbo certificates on selected equities from Europe and the U.S.
The products linked to 70 stocks are available on the platform. These stocks are the most popular from the U.S. and Europe like Alphabet, Amazon, and Tesla, alongside longstanding corporations like LVMH Group, The Coca-Cola-Company, AstraZeneca and Deutsche Bank. And the most represented sectors are IT and Finance. 19 stocks are related to IT while 11 stocks are related to the banking/financial sector.
6. ASIC Disqualifies Robert Francis Brady from Managing Companies for 4 Years
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) today announced that it has disqualified Robert Francis Brady of Mosman Park, Western Australia from managing companies for four years due to his involvement in the failure of three companies.
Between 1999 and 2020, Mr Brady was a director of three companies, including Sito Elevator and Escalator Service Company Pty Ltd, Goldgame Corporation Pty Ltd and Audio Visual Developments Pty Ltd.
ASIC found that Mr Brady failed to:
• exercise his duties as a director with due care and diligence in respect of Goldgame;
• take all reasonable steps to secure compliance by Sito Elevator and Goldgame with their obligations to keep the written financial records; and
• prevent Sito Elevator and Goldgame from incurring debts when it was trading while it was insolvent.
7. Broadridge Taps FinTech Fixed Income Veterans to Join LTX Leadership Team
Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc., a global Fintech leader, announced that it has hired Ted Bragg and Jim Kwiatkowski to join LTX, a Broadridge company offering a new AI-driven digital trading platform for corporate bonds.
Bragg and Kwiatkowski, both of whom join LTX with more than 30 years of industry experience, will work closely with LTX CEO Jim Toffey to accelerate the digitization of corporate bond trading.
