Fazzaco learned that Finalto, a Leading institutional trading services firm, has added the SGISGD – MSCI Singapore Index to its trading platforms, further extending its footprint across the Asia market.

The MSCI Singapore Index, created to measure the performance of the large and mid-cap segments of the Singapore market, was made up of of 20 constituents, covering around 85% of the free float-adjusted market capitalisation of Singapore equity. Besides, the index brings clients an exposure to Singapore's economy with a single position.

"It's not been an easy time for global equity markets in 2022. Driven by inflation, rising bond yields and worries about a global economic slowdown, investors have been de-risking portfolios by reducing exposure to equities," said Neil Wilson, Finalto's Chief Market's Analyst.

"Singapore is, however, looking in a much better shape than many developed markets and its stock market reflects this healthy outlook. Shares on the STI have outperformed most major markets in the first half of the year, trading virtually flat to slightly positive in the first six months," Neil, who is very optimistic about the Singapore market, added.

"Singapore's economy is not at risk of recession or stagflation at this stage, according to finance minister Lawrence Won, and investors are looking favourably on the country as a destination for capital. Even post-covid amid the turmoil in global markets this is a roaring Asian tiger."

Finalto has been building its presence in Asia since it's Singapore office was launched in 2019. At the beginning of this year, the company expanded its offeing with addition of 32 leveraged equities belonging to some of the most prestigious companies listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX). Meanwhile, it appointed Alex Wijawa as Asian Sales Director to grow business in Asia. Most recently,  Finalto Asia has received certification from the Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) as a capital markets provider, which is accredited by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
