HKEX Names Matthew Cheong as Head of Structured Products and Platform Business Development

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) has appointed Matthew Cheong as its Managing Director, Head of Structured Products and Platform Business Development.

Matthew will report to Wilfred Yiu, Co-Chief Operating Officer & Head of Equities of HKEX, and work closely with the HKEX Sales and Marketing teams to support market outreach and engagement, as well as collaborate with the Operations and IT Divisions on the development and implementation of the platforms for relevant HKEX products.

As seen on his LinkedIn profile, prior to HKEX, Matthew served as Managing Director at Goldman Sachs for over 5 years, and earlier, he had served as Executive Director at the bank between May 2000 - Jun 2010. He also had held senior roles of technology in JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley, focusing on developing trading systems.

Matthew earned his Master's Degree of Computer Science from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and earned his Bachelor's Degree of Computer Science from Stony Brook University.

Last month, the group had announced the new appointments​ of Bonnie Y Chan and Wilfred Yiu as Co-Chief Operating Officers (Co-COO) , and Katherine Ng appointed as Head of Listing.
