IG Australia Names Matthew Davidson as New CEO

Following Eren Eraslan​'s recent promotion as the Head of Northern Europe at IG Group's Nordic division earlier this month, Matthew Davidson, the company's Commercial Director, has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Australia and New Zealand unit, IG Australia.

Davidson has dedicated his entire professional career to IG Group, accumulating over 18 years of experience. He joined IG Group in 2005 as a sales trader based in London. Through unwavering dedication, Davidson was promoted to Deputy Head of Futures and FX in May 2012. Seven months later, he relocated from the UK to Australia to assume the role of Regional Head of Dealing. In July 2017, he was appointed as Head of Clients for the Australian region. In August 2019, Davidson was named as Commercial Director, a position he held until this recent announcement.

Davidson holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Birmingham. Throughout his time at IG Group, he has garnered widespread recognition for his expertise in electronic trading, securities, CFDs, options, FX, and other businesses.

Last month, IG Group also announced several senior appointments​, including Isaac Poore as Chief Financial Officer and Jordan von Kluck as Chief Technology Officer for North America. This further strengthens the company's leadership team as it continues to expand its global operations.
