IG Group Dismisses South Africa CEO, Appoints Aphindile AB Bokleni as Successor

Fazzaco learned that IG Group, the global leader in retail Forex and CFD trading, has let go Robert J. Van Eyden from the role of its South Africa Chief Executive Officer as a part of the firm’s workforce reduction.

Robert joined IG in July 2022, and took on the above role since then.

Chief Operating Officer at the South African unit of IG, Aphindile AB Bokleni, has been selected to take over the CEO role from Robert. In the meantime, he will continue with his responsibilities as the COO.

Bokleni has been with IG Group for over eight years. He joined IG South Africa in August 2015, focused on Trading Services, then moved to India as Client Operations Manager in February 2018. In July 2020, he became COO of IG South Africa.

In August, Fazzaco reported that June Felix​ resigned from the CEO of IG Group because of health concerns.
