IG Names Nicos Demetriades as Managing Director and Head of Its Cyprus Arm - BrightPool

Fazzaco learned IG Group, the global leader in online trading headquartered in the UK, has selected Nicos Demetriades to assume the role of Managing Director and Head of thr group's Cyprus-based division - BrightPool Ltd (BrightPool).

Nicos Demetriades joined IG Group at the time when the group founded BrightPool, and has since served as Executive Director and Head of Finance in Cyprus. Prior to IG, he was Head of Finance and Risk Manager at Purple Trading from 2017 to 2019, and at Spot Capital Markets from 2015 to 2017. Between 2009 and 2015, he has been with Ernst & Young Cyprus, working in the Financial Services Audit Department.

Based in Limassol, Cyprus, BrightPool was incorporated 2019. The branch operates as a multi-asset market-making service provider, delivering high quality execution.

Over the last three months, Fazzaco has reported multiple executive move stories about IG. At the end of November 2021, Deborah Finlayson​ has resigned from the role of Head of Global Service Centers, Workplace & Culture at the group. In mid-November, Katherine Whitton was named as Global Chief Marketing Officer and a member of the Company's executive committee. Besides, Matt Macklin was promoted in early October to the new Chief Executive Officer of the United Kingdom, Asia-Pacific and Emerging Markets.
