Institutional FX Trading Volumes Recovery in June, While Moscow Exchange Sees Continued Decline

The trading volumes of leading institutional FX and ECN platforms in June 2022 have been revealed, generally showing an overall increase, with only one venue reflecting a slight drop.
The report covers Average Daily Volume (ADV) of institutional FX trading volumes from seven major venues, namely Cboe FX, CLS, Euronext FX, FxSpotStream, Moscow Exchange, Refinitiv and Integral, as shown in the chart below.

Cboe FX, CLS, Euronext FX, FxSpotStream, Refinitiv and Integral all reported an increase in average daily FX trading volumes in June 2022 versus May, with Moscow Exchange reflecting a decrease of 7.26 percent.
Overall, FxSpotStream has the biggest percent of MoM increase of 9.32 percent, followed by Integral and Refinitiv with 5.15 percent, and CLS with 5.02 percent. Cboe FX and Euronext FX are showing an increase of 0.38 percent and 0.19 percent respectively.
The detailing trading volumes for each venues are as follows:
Cboe FX
Cboe FX has reported $39.71 billion ADV, an increase of 0.38 percent compared to $39.56 billion in May 2022.
CLS
The total average daily traded volume submitted to CLS reached $1.98 trillion, an increase of 4 percent compared to June 2021. In addition, on a month-on-month basis, volumes were up 6.1 percent from May's $1.866 trillion. Spot trades monthly rose 5 percent, contributing $502 billion to the total volume.
Euronext FX
The average daily volume (ADV) for the forex market for the month stood at $23.1 billion, 0.2% higher than the previous month and 19.8% higher than the previous year.
FxSpotStream
FxSpotStream reported a second highest monthly average daily trading volume (ADV) of $63.8 billion in June. This ADV represents a 9.3% increase compared to $58.4 billion in May, and a 30% jump on a yearly basis.
Moscow Exchange
Moscow Exchange's average daily volumes was $12.9 billion in June 2022, which represents a decline of 7.26 percent compared to May 2022.
Refinitiv
Refinitiv's average daily volumes was $102 billion in June 2022, which represents a jump of 5.15 percent compared to May 2022.
Integral
Customers' average daily volumes (ADV) across Integral platforms totaled $49 billion in June 2022. This represents an increase of +5.2% compared to May 2022 and a decrease of -3.9% compared to the same period in 2021.
