Johan Wiese Named as Director at IG Markets South Africa

Johan Wiese, the IG Group's Finance Chief Operating Officer, has joined IG Markets South Africa (IGMSA), the group's subsidiary, as a Director.

Wiese has more then 20 years of working experience in financial sector. According to the firm's latest Companies House filling, he has been appointed as Director on November 30.

As seen on his LinkedIn profile, Wiese has been with IG Group for nearly 14 years since his joining the company in February 2009 as Group Financial Accountant. He held several positions at the group, including Financial Controller for UK & Europe, UK & EMEA Financial Controller, Head of Finance Projects and Head of Finance Change. Wiese was promoted to Finance COO from Business Finance Controller in April 2021. Prior to IG Group, he had a short stint at Dresdner Kleinwort, a leading bank in German. His career started in 2005 at Tenk Loubser, where he served as an auditor for over 2 years.

According to a separate filing, Richard Heading, the Group Finance Director at IG, who has previously spent over 15 years at the global professional services firm Willis Towers Watson, has also been named as a Director at IGMSA.

Recently, IG Group has announced several appointments to boost its management team. Ryan Arnold​ was promoted to Head of Credit Operations in mid-October. Furthermore, Catherine Davis​ and Tobias Stöhr​ were successively named as CMO for North America and Head of Sales for Germany in September.
