John Austin Named Chief Strategy Officer of Capital.com

London-based retail FX and CFDs broker Capital.com has hired John Austin as its new Chief Strategy Officer from StoneX Group Inc., a diversified global brokerage where John was Lead Strategy Specialist.

In the new role, John will be responsible for implementing strategic direction, fostering innovation and driving initiatives to drive Capital.com's growth.

With a wealth of experience in the financial industry, John brings profound expertise to Capital.com. He worked with LMAX Group, the leading independent operator of institutional execution venues for FX and crypto currency trading, as Chief Strategy Officer for over two years, focused on a variety of strategic projects in Institutional FX and Cryptocurrency.

John spent more eighteen years altogether at IG Group, the global leader in retail Forex and CFD trading. He served the company as Chief Analytics Officer for almost three years, followed by 2 years as Group's Chief Strategy Officer. Besides, he Led the design and launch of Spectrum, IG's Frankfurt-based multilateral trading facility for securitised derivatives. In addition, he was a member of Executive Committee of IG Group for five years.

Between January 2012 and August 2020, John served as an Executive Director of Nadex, a Chicago-based, retail-focused derivatives exchange and clearing house.

He holds MSc in financial engineering from London Business School, MA in empirical psychology from Cambridge.

This appointment comes after Capital.com's promotion of Kypros Zoumidou​ to CEO. Prior to the new role, Kypros was Chief Commercial Officer of the company.
