Nomura, a global financial services group, has announced Monday the appointment of Jérôme Brochard as its Global Head of QIS Structuring and EMEA Head of QIS Distribution, effective immediately.

In his new role, Brochard will lead the development and distribution of Nomura's Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) across asset classes and trading strategies. Based in Paris, Brochard will report jointly to John Goff, Global Head of Structuring, and Gary Hyman, Head of EMEA Global Markets Sales.

John Goff commented on the appointment: "We are delighted to welcome Jérôme to Nomura. His extensive experience and expertise in quantitative investment strategies will position us well to diversify our capabilities and support greater client wallet capture. We are confident that Jérôme will play a key role in driving the growth of our QIS business, which is a key product offering for our clients and a targeted growth area for the bank."

With over 25 years of experience in the financial service industry, Brochard joined Nomura from Credit Suisse, where he served as Managing Director of Global Quantitative Investment Strategy for more than 4 years. Prior to that, he was the Founder and Co-Chief Investment Officer of AXA Investment Managers Chorus. Between 2005 and June 2016, he held the role of Managing Director and Global Head of Systematic Trading Strategies at Goldman Sachs, responsible for initiating and managing the systematic trading strategies business and structuring team in Asia, Europe, and the U.S.

The addition of Brochard follows last week's appointment of Ruchir Sharma, who joined Nomura as the Global Head of FX Option Trading with 20 years of experience in forex markets.
