Nomura Names Ruchir Sharma as Global Head of FX Option Trading

81c23125284da10a95a310235290577.jpeg​Nomura, a global financial services group, has announced on Wednesday the appointment of Ruchir Sharma as Global Head of FX Option Trading, effective immediately. Based in London, he will report to Kevin Connors, Co-Head of Global FX & EM at Nomura.

With two decades of experience in forex markets, Sharma joined Nomura from Deutsche Bank, where he served as Co-Head of APAC GFX during his second-time tenure at the bank. He had also previously held leading roles at leading banks including Credit Suisse and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In March 2003, Sharma started his career at Deutsche Bank as a Senior Analyst.

Sharma earned his MBA degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and gained his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Delhi University.

In his new role, Sharma will lead the growth and development of Nomura's FX Options business with a focus on bolstering the bank's client franchise offering and trading capabilities. As part of the Global FX leadership team, he will facilitate collaboration between FX trading and sales teams to achieve the company's growth objectives.
