Fazzaco has learned that Lucian Lauerman, the Head of Digital Assets at OANDA, has been promoted to the position of Deputy Chief Operating Officer. OANDA is a renowned global leader in online multi-asset trading services.
Lauerman brings a wealth of experience in the financial services sector, having worked in the industry for nearly three decades. He joined OANDA initially in November 2019 as the Head of Data Services and later took on the role of Head of Digital Assets in December 2021.
Before joining OANDA, Lauerman held important positions at Saxo Bank for over nine years during two separate periods. His roles included Head of API Business, Global Head of Electronic Distribution, and Global Product Manager for Foreign Exchange. Lauerman has also held leadership positions at other prominent firms in the industry, such as Head of e Product Management at Lloyds Banking Group and Managing Director for London and Northern Europe at GL Trade.
It is worth mentioning that OANDA recently expanded the scope of responsibilities of its US CEO, Jessica Beckstead, appointing her to concurrently serve as Head of FX Data Services. In this role, she is responsible for the development, improvement, and delivery of OANDA's data service business, with a focus on innovation.
OANDA has been actively expanding its business across various sectors. In February, the forex broker announced the launch of OANDA Crypto, a FCA-registered cryptocurrency trading platform, in the UK. Additionally, one month prior to that, OANDA introduced OANDA Labs Trader, a trading program centered around profit sharing, as it ventured into the proprietary trading market.
