OANDA Japan to to Increase Margin Rates for AUD/JPY, Effective May 15

OANDA Japan, a leading Forex and CFD broker, as well as the Japanese Unit of OANDA, announced on Monday (May 8) that it will raise the margin rates for the AUD/JPY currency pair.
According to the announcement, the margin rate for the AUD/JPY will be raised from 2% to 3%. This change will apply to corporate accounts on the Tokyo server and NY server from the start of trading on May 15, 2023.
OANDA Japan warns customers who hold positions in the relevant currency pair will be subject to a loss cut over changes in the margin rate, if they continue to hold these positions after the market closes on May 13, 2023 (Saturday). The broker advises these clients to reduce their position in advance or to make sure that they have sufficient funds in their account.
Last October, the Japanese subsidiary also raised the margin rate for the USD/SEK currency pair from 2% to 3%.
In addition, at the end of March this year, OANDA Japan had introduced maximum open interest for its all currency pairs, which took effect on April 3, 2023 (Monday).
