SIX Group Unveils Overall Decline Across Key Figures in July 2023

SIX Group has released the monthly key figures of SIX Swiss Exchange and BME Exchange on trading in Switzerland and Spain for July 2023, disclosing an overall drop across key figures during the period.
As for the combined key figures of SIX Swiss Exchange & BME Exchange, the monthly turnover was CHF 105.3 billion, falling 24.1% compared to June 2023 and 3.1% compared to July 2022. Transactions came in at 5,408,686, down 4.5% MoM and 24.1% YoY.
In terms of SIX Swiss Exchange, trading turnover for July 2023 declined 14.0% MoM and 12.6% YoY respectively to CHF 66.5 billion, with transactions down 9.7% MoM and 21.6% YoY to 3,232,611.
Specifically, turnover derived from Equities was CHF 52,414 million, falling 23.8% MoM and 12.6% YoY. Turnover from Fixed Income dipped 36.4% from the prior month to CHF 9,398 million, on a yearly basis, down 23.8%. Turnover from ETF and Securitized Derivatives were CHF 4,121 million and CHF 525 million respectively, 27.8% and 9.5% lower over June.
BME Exchange brought total revenue of CHF 40,384 million, 19.4% lower over the previous month but 23.6% higher over the year-ago month. Total transactions increased 4.3% on a monthly basis to 2,176,075, but down 27.5% compared to the last same period.
Turnover from Equities deceased 11.2% MoM and 14.4% YoY to EUR 22,481 million. Fixed Income generated EUR 17,764 million, dipping 27.9% MoM but surging 183.6% YoY. Turnover from ETF and Securitized Derivatives grew 9.8% and 19.2% MoM respectively to EUR 104 million and EUR 36 million.
