Top 10 Exchanges See 10% Decline in September Crypto Spot Volume

Fazzaco has compiled the performance of the top 10 crypto exchanges based on spot trading volume data for September 2025. Overall, the total spot trading volume for these ten exchanges went down by 10.08% in September compared to August. Eight exchanges recorded a drop in trading volume, yet the other two saw the opposite.

Detailed data is as follows:
The world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, reported a spot trading volume of US636.53 billion in September, down 13.64% compared to 737.05 billion in August.
The Dubai-based exchange Bybit saw its spot trading volume decrease to US132.1 billion in September, up 4.42% from 126.51 billion in August.
Gate.io, headquartered in the Cayman Islands, had a spot trading volume of US124.01 billion in September, up 21.10% from 102.4 billion in August.
HTX recorded a spot trading volume of US98.02 billion in September, a decrease of 7.48% compared to 105.94 billion in August.
Leading US exchange Coinbase had a spot trading volume of US83.05 billion in September, a decline of 17.02% from 100.09 billion in August.
South Korea's Upbit saw its spot volume decrease to US82.62 billion in September, a 9.42% drop from 91.21 billion in August.
OKX posted a spot volume of US81.05 billion in September, experiencing a decline rate at 25.91% compared to 109.39 billion in August.
Offshore-regulated Kucoin had a spot volume of US46.47 billion in September, a 13.27% drop from 53.58 billion.
Kraken reported a spot volume of US39.29 billion in September, down 14.16% from 45.77 billion in August.
UK FCA-regulated LMAX Digital had a spot volume of US7.99 billion in September, a 5.22% decline from 8.43 billion in August.
