UK Financial Conduct Authority Issues Warning Against TricapTrade

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has issued a stern warning against TricapTrade, an entity operating through the website www.tricaptrade.com. The FCA's notice, first published on February 15, 2024, cautions the public about potential unauthorized financial services or products being provided or promoted by this brokerage.

TricapTrade, purportedly situated at addresses 22 Bishopgate, London, EC2N 4BQ, and 16 Beaufort Court, Admirals Way, Docklands, London, E14 9XL, with an email address listed as support@tricaptrade.com, has not received authorization from the FCA to conduct or advertise financial services in the UK.

The warning underscores the necessity for individuals to exercise caution when dealing with entities like TricapTrade, emphasizing that most firms and individuals offering financial services in the UK must obtain authorization from the FCA.

The FCA advises individuals to be vigilant, as unauthorized firms such as TricapTrade might be targeting people in the UK. Moreover, it highlights the potential risks associated with engaging with unauthorized firms, including the absence of access to the Financial Ombudsman Service for complaint resolution and the lack of protection under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) in case of adverse outcomes.

Furthermore, the FCA advises individuals to respond to unexpected communications from financial businesses or individuals using the contact details provided on the Financial Services Register, thereby mitigating the risks associated with potential scams or unauthorized activities.

In a recent news covered by Fazzaco, the British watchdog disclosed a collaborative effort with the National Crime Agency (NCA) in a joint operation on February 1, aimed at curbing suspected insider dealing and money laundering activities in London.
