Capital.com Suspends New Client Registration in UK

London-based retail FX and CFDs broker Capital.com has now suspended new client registrations for its UK entity.

Users from the UK who wish to open an account with the broker will receive a message informing them of the decision to pause onboarding new clients.

The message states: "We have made the decision to pause onboarding new clients in the UK for now. We have grown rapidly as a business and we want to make sure that all our systems, controls, products and services are provided to the high standards that are demanded by our clients, management, shareholders and regulators."

The specific reason for the suspension has not been disclosed, and there is no information regarding plans or dates for service resumption. However, existing UK clients can still access their accounts and trade as usual.

Capital.com's British subsidiary, Capital Com (UK) Limited (registration number: 793714), remains registered and can provide financial services normally.

In September of last year, the British entity reported strong financial performance with revenue of £29.1 million​, an 88% increase year-on-year.

The company also underwent leadership team changes at the end of 2023, appointing a new CEO and CSO​. It is unclear if the service suspension is related to the company's strategic planning.
