1. BDSwiss Appoints Achilleas Achilleos as Chief Marketing Officer
Fazzaco learned that leading multi-asset financial services firm BDSwiss has continued its recruiting drive, adding Achilleas Achilleos as the company's Chief Marketing Officer, effective from early September.
Achilleas brings with over 20 years experience in marketing, creative, communications and digital departments. As seen on his Linkedin profile, he joins BDSwiss from AGP Law Firm, one of the fastest growing, full-service and multi-awarded international Law Firms in Cyprus, where he has been serving as Marketing Manager since January 2021.
2. eToro Money Now Available in Austria
eToro, a leading social trading provider, announced the launch of eToro Money in Austria, which follows the expansion of the service in other European countries, including France, Malta, Monaco, Portugal, UK, Ireland, Romania, Cyprus as well as Italy and Spain.
eToro Money is an account and app changed from eToro wallet. The app connects with eToro investment account, offering free and instant deposits. Besides, users will be free from conversion fees when funding their investment account.
3. Securities Commission Malaysia Issues Warning Against Huobi Global
The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has updated the Investor Alert List that contains the list of unauthorised websites, investment products, companies and individuals.
According to the regulator, Huobi Global was added to the list as at 22 August 2022 for Operating a digital asset exchange (DAX) without registration.
4. Robinhood Reports Slight Decline in Total Trading Volumes in July 2022
US-based online broker Robinhood Markets, Inc. has released selected monthly operating data for July 2022, showing a slight decline in its total trading volumes.
The broker's Net Cumulative Funded Accounts (NCFA) at the end of July were 22.9 Million, unchanged from the end of June 2022. Monthly Active Users (MAU) at the end of July were 13.2 Million, down 0.8 Million from the end of June 2022.
5. Unlimint Launches Banking as a Service API Platform UBC
London-based global fintech Unlimint, has today announced the launch of its Banking as a Service (BaaS) product, Unlimint Banking and Cards (UBC), a one-stop payment accounts and card issuing and processing solution. The new offering allows companies globally to launch and embed digital payment products for their customers based in the EEA, UK, and LATAM, and will launch in Singapore in Q1 2023.
Unlimint Banking and Cards (UBC) is a flexible, white-label solution with software and licenses for a boutique approach. It enables clients to customise and embed payment solutions directly into their own platforms without the need to build complicated payment systems, overcome regulatory obstacles or manage the complexities and difficulties of payment network membership.
6. Binance Taps Mastercard to Launch Cryptocurrency Payment Card
Binance is to launch a cryptocurrency payment card that enables users to convert their holdings into fiat for transactions at Mastercard terminals worldwide.
Issued by Credencial Payments, the card will allow all new and existing Binance users in Argentina with a valid national ID to make purchases and pay bills with cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and BNB, at over 90 million Mastercard merchants worldwide, both in-store and online.
7. Credit Suisse Group Appoints New CFO and COO
Credit Suisse Group today announces the appointments of Dixit Joshi as Chief Financial Officer and Francesca McDonagh as Group Chief Operating Officer. They will both join the Executive Board. Michael J. Rongetti is named as ad interim Chief Executive Officer of the Asset Management division. All three will report directly to Group CEO Ulrich Körner. Francesco De Ferrari, CEO of the Wealth Management division, is appointed CEO of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region after serving in this role on an ad interim basis since January 2022.
